Mystery Monkeys on the Loose in St. Louis: A Puzzling Situation

"We're trying to pinpoint their hiding spots and food sources," Hauser explained. "We're collaborating with specialized agencies to ensure their safe capture." Once caught, these monkeys will be taken to a facility equipped to handle exotic animals.

"They've been fed by people, so they're accustomed to human presence and associate it with food," says Missy Williams, head of the Dania Beach Vervet Project. "But this urban life has its dangers; they've been electrocuted, hit by cars, and sometimes even captured for the pet trade."
