According to York Regional Police, the assault occurred on December 23, shortly after 6 p.m. It took place in the parking lot of a plaza located near Mable Smith and Interchange ways. During this unsettling event, two individuals were walking when an unidentified man approached them from behind. Without any provocation, he grabbed one of the victims and attacked them with a sharp object before fleeing the scene.
The victim sustained minor injuries and was promptly transported to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, law enforcement has made progress in the case by releasing a photograph of the suspected assailant along with a description of the vehicle involved.
The suspect is described as having a light complexion, likely in his late 30s to early 40s, standing between five-foot-10 and six-feet tall, with a medium to heavy build. He possesses dark facial hair and dark hair, and was last seen wearing a blue and green plaid jacket paired with dark trousers.
