In an interview with the Telegraph, Starmer expressed doubt about the legality of the US action in Tehran. He stood by his decision, stating that it was his duty to prioritize Britain's national interest.
And this is the part most people miss... Trump's criticism of Starmer extends beyond the Iran issue. He has also urged the UK to change course on various policies, including the Changos Islands deal, North Sea oil and gas exploration, and immigration. Trump has even made false claims about Sharia courts in London, adding fuel to the fire.
The UK government, through Darren Jones, the prime minister's chief secretary, has emphasized that the UK will act in the interests of British citizens, regardless of their faith.
A recent YouGov poll shows that British public opinion is divided, with 49% opposing the US strikes on Iran and 28% in support. Additionally, 32% support the US using RAF bases for attacks as long as the targets are restricted to missile sites, while 50% oppose it.
